1) The input estimation problem where the system parameters and
output are known and for which the missing part of the input (boundary
or initial conditions) are to be determined, and
2) The identification or parameter estimation problem, where the
parameters are found given the input and output.
This conference is a continuation of the June 1993 Palm Coast Conference. Each year for five years prior to the Palm Coast Conference, informal two-day seminars were organized by Professor J.V. Beck at Michigan State University. This conference also follows the November 1994 ISIP conference which was held in Paris.
