Research in Engineering Education Symposium (REES)

July 7-10, 2008
Davos, Switzerland

About This Conference

Participation at this conference is by invitation only. No registrations will be accepted from anyone who is not on the designated list of participants.

The field of engineering education research is growing rapidly, as evidenced by the recent emergence of the critical components of an infrastructure to sustain a community of scholars. Well-defined groups, centers, and departments are forming on many campuses, professional organizations are growing more supportive through working groups and conference sessions, agencies are providing more funding opportunities, and journals are encouraging more scholarly rigor in their articles. Among the elements needed now is a highly-regarded research forum in which scholars may network, collaborate, and disseminate their research among their colleagues. Thus, the mission of the Research in Engineering Education Symposium (REES) is to serve as the principal independent international forum advancing research in engineering education by providing an opportunity for emerging and established scholars and practitioners in the field to interact and collaborate substantively on their research, and thus leverage their expertise to shape and drive engineering education. The retreat-oriented meeting will be highly interactive in which attendees are expected to participate in a variety of discussions and activities throughout the symposium. Invitations to participate in the conference will be extended to authors of accepted research briefs.
