2012:
Celebrating 50 years of international, interdisciplinary engineering conferences
Polymer Reaction Engineering VIII An
ECI Conference Series
May 6-11, 2012 Cancun,
Mexico
About This ConferenceEngineering
Conferences International, in technical co-sponsorship with the American Institute
of Chemical Engineers and the Mexican Polymer Society, is sponsoring the eighth
conference in the series on "Polymer Reaction Engineering." The conference will
take place May 6-11, 2012 at the Gran Melia Hotel in Cancun, Mexico. This
conference provides a forum for presentation of emerging technologies and scientific
advancements in the area of polymer reaction engineering. The speakers and attendees
come from several sectors of academia and industry or other research organizations.
This format has been adopted for the last seven PRE conferences and found to be
very successful. The Program chair is Professor
Marc A. Dubé (University of Ottawa, Canada); co-chairs are Dr. Marco
Villalobos (Cabot Corp., USA) and Professor Eduardo Vivaldo-Lima (UNAM,
Mexico). The scientific committee includes Professors Reinaldo Giudici
(University of São Paulo, Brazil), Joserra Leiza (The University of the
Basque Country, Spain), and Milan Maric (McGill University, Canada), and
Drs. Klaus-Dieter Hungenberg (BASF, Germany), Helmut Meyer (Bayer,
Germany), and Dean Millar (Dow Chemical, USA).
Conference Plenary Lecture
The conference plenary speaker will be: Dr. Jesús Álvarez-Calderón, Professor, Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana, Plantel Iztapalapa (UAM-I), Mexico City, Mexico. National Researcher, Level III, Sistema Nacional de Investigadores (S.N.I.), México.S.N.I. Director, CONACYT, México

There will be three poster prizes for the best presentations by our "younger scientists" are sponsored by the Macromolecular Journals (Wiley-VCH). Each prize consists of books to a value of 200 Euros and a free 1-year subscription to Macromolecular Reaction Engineering.
The Poster Sessions co-chairs are Dr. Jon Debling (BASF, USA), Prof.
Milan Maric (McGill University, Canada), and Prof. Davide Moscatelli
(Politecnico di Milano, Italy) Publications
The meeting notes will include copies of all presentations (short abstract and
copies of the slides). The notes will be distributed to all participants.
As was done in previous PRE conferences, more details will be given later for
the deadline for submission of papers of PRE 8, to be peer-reviewed and published
together in a separate special issue of Macromol. Symp. (http://www.ms-journal.de).
The journal publishes selected contributions from international conferences, symposia
and meetings in the field of macromolecular science and related areas of research.
All submitted contributions are peer-reviewed to ensure a high quality of published
manuscripts. Accepted articles will be typeset and published as a hardcover edition
together with online publication at Wiley InterScience, thereby guaranteeing an
immediate international dissemination. Macromolecular Symposia is covered
in ISI Proceedings as a body of literature distinct from non-proceedings material,
where all proceedings publications are covered.
